Fiona is an incredibly hard working teacher, rugby coach AND player, loving mum of two and badass wife. She also enjoys running half-marathons and most recently crushed her most recent time by over 15 minutes!!

She started 1:1 coaching September 2023, and the amount of growth she has displayed has been nothing short of incredible. She leaned into the coaching process, asked questions, displayed consistency day in day out while also allowing for flexibility when life demanded more of her. A remarkable performance, and her successes speak for themselves!! Let’s look at the stats from her most recent 4-month training block!!
Half-marathon time went from 2:15:56 to 1:59:44 ( A >15 min PB from previous race!!!)
+50lb to her deadlift (145lb x 5 reps to 195lb x 5 reps)
Energized throughout the day, no more midday slumps
Understood how nutrition plays a role in mood and availability to take on stresses of the day
Well-fuelled and energized for training, allowing for QUALITY sessions
Body composition has improved while feeling invigorated, motivated, confident in ability to perform and repeat habits
Cooked new delicious and nutritious meals that the whole family enjoyed
Husband also learned a lot from her journey
Learned that no foods are off-limits, and which ones were optimal for her lifestyle and goals
Mastered planning and executing her nutrition and training plan, stuck to things even when life didn’t go as expected!
From a coaches point of view, her successes came from taking action and being open to accountability. Anything that didn't go to plan was just a lesson along the way and she actively made decisions to be better in the future. When you carry as much responsibility as she does for others, life is bound to go awry. She flawlessly worked through seasonal illnesses (herself and children), a busy schedule and still made she sure was as consistent as possible while listening to her body and being proactive about situations by asking questions.
At the end of her training block we asked her to review her experience and she tells us a little about "what's next?"
How are you feeling about the process/program so far?
10/10
Do you feel like you’re getting the attention and guidance you need in order to progress and learn effectively?
Nutrition and strength coaching have been going really well. I have a better idea what to expect when it comes to each. By that I mean, I know my programming will change periodically and that nutrition is something we talk about more often but still moves gradually. You have a clear idea of my goals and incorporate feedback from me in both types of coaching. It feels collaborative and responsive.
Things you most enjoy about your coaching program
1. I really like that we get to talk about all the thoughts I have about nutrition, it’s good to work through them and express them.
2. I like that the strength programming changes fairly often, I get good at it then it shifts.
3. I like that you include a variety of exercises in the program - jumping, throwing, big lift, single leg movements (even though I complain about them!)
4. You’re so encouraging and have helped me build my confidence so that’s pretty great. So thank you for that
What's next??
I’m going to run another 1/2 in October. I want to keep improving and getting faster. I want to be able to play rugby and stay on top of my training throughout the season
Anything Else?
You’re doing meaningful work and you’ve had a profound impact on my life.
Congratulations Fiona, I am beyond THRILLED with your continued progress and looking forward to more success in your future!!! Keep going!!!
